A rare and striking pair of German 1950s Antimott lounge chairs, designed by Wilhelm Knoll and produced by Wilhelm Knoll Germany.

Beautifully expressive in form, these chairs embody the softer, more organic side of mid century modern design, with sculptural cherry wood frames that curve fluidly from the rear legs into the arms. The frames have been carefully and sympathetically restored, preserving around 70 years of natural patina.

The distinctive open slatted backs give the chairs a light architectural presence from every angle. They retain their original upholstery, which has been professionally cleaned and remains in good vintage condition.

A highly collectible pair of generously sized armchairs, they would sit beautifully in a mid century, modernist, Scandinavian or contemporary interior.
