Mid Century Danish 1960s Shelving System in Walnut by Poul Cadovius

SOLD

Highly collectable, this stunning 1960s two bay modular shelving system was designed by renowned Danish designer Poul Cadovius and produced by CADO in Denmark. Crafted from exceptionally figured walnut, it showcases the classic sculptural lines of mid century modern design.

The system has been cleaned and waxed, and displays age related wear consistent with use, including a few light scratches. It features a large cabinet originally designed for stereo equipment, complete with its original perforated back for ventilation and small, neat factory cut slits on the top rear edge, as well as a drop front cabinet for additional storage. Eight adjustable shelves provide generous and flexible display options, including one deeper 38 cm shelf for larger items, with the remaining shelves measuring 22 cm in depth.

Cadovius’s distinctive angled shelf supports add sculptural refinement while ensuring excellent strength and stability. His celebrated angled dowel modular system allows the entire configuration to be customised to suit your needs, an adaptable design that evolves with you.

Every detail has been carefully considered, resulting in a piece ready to be enjoyed for generations, a functional, living work of art.
