A stunning and rare mid century modern Danish coffee table from the 1960s, this refined yet characterful piece is crafted from European oak. Carefully restored, it retains a beautiful aged patina, with warm grain that speaks to its history.
The original slate tabletop, showing only minimal marks, provides a striking contrast. Its dark, matte surface appears almost to float within the frame, creating a sense of lightness. A particularly elegant detail lies in the way the slate is supported, gently cradled by sculpted oak corner posts with exposed joinery, combining structural integrity with sculptural beauty.
Although the maker remains unknown, the design strongly recalls the organic modernism of Sergio Rodrigues, blending Scandinavian restraint with a bold expressive form.
