Danish Mid Century Modern Sideboard by Arne Vodder in Brazilian Rosewood

SOLD

Designed by Arne Vodder for Skovby Møbelfabrik in the 1960s, this rare vintage sideboard exemplifies Danish Mid-Century Modern design, embodying the concept of “functional art.”

Crafted from highly figured Brazilian rosewood, it features a central section with five drawers, each with signature sculptural handles. On either side, two sliding doors with matching handles open to reveal adjustable shelves, providing ample storage.

The sideboard is supported by a sled leg base, showcasing exposed finger joint details that highlight exceptional craftsmanship. Professionally restored, the oiled finish enhances the wood’s rich grain and warmth. In mint condition, this sideboard is ready to become a cherished family heirloom.
